HEADACHES
Many people suffer with headaches and migraines without
understanding the source of their pain is their neck.
More than 70% of chronic migraine sufferers have been found to have related neck pain, and up to
90% have identified trigger points in their neck muscles.
Relief from headaches and migraines can be achieved with the right neck treatment.
Over 20 years of treating neck-related (cervicogenic) headaches and migraines, Glen has developed a very effective, pain free
manual therapy that can ease persistent headaches and chronic migraines within 2-4 sessions.
And better still, there are easy, reliable strategies that you can learn to better manage your headaches / migraines.
What To Expect
GB Physiotherapy offers a range of services to manage cervicogenic headaches.
At your initial appointment, you will have your neck assessed for specific restrictions in the upper cervical spine (C0-3).
If these restrictions are present, gentle manual treatment (without manipulation / adjustment or 'cracking') is used to restore normal motion. This first session will involve treatment and exercises to better manage the underlying cause of the neck restrictions.
Follow up appointments will review the mobility of the upper neck joints, and develop a plan of stretching and strengthening exercises, along with postural advice, to provide the best self-management strategies for you to remain symptom free.
